Winvian Scores an Above Par Review

Hotels Above Par is always on the hunt for “the world’s coolest boutique-style hotels.” Their recent review gives Winvian top honors for a comprehensively delightful experience, with writer Kelli Acciardo reveling in everything from food to facials.

Describing “the vibe” as “designer cottages built for an idyllic stay,” Acciardo highlights a few favorites, including “the kitted-out Beaver Lodge with an intricately carved dam suspended over the bed and Treehouse, for those who wish to slumber high in the sky.”

Like a bookish beauty taking off her glasses and shaking out her bun, Library garners some well-deserved attention too. Acciardo praises this cottage “designed with bibliophiles in mind” as a welcoming retreat “housing hundreds of tomes for bookworms to peruse, plus a library ladder leading to a second floor and a celestial skylight.”

While our Cottage Collection inspires guests to step into the fantasy vacation of their choosing, from taking flight in Helicopter, to staying comfortably grounded in Camping, no visit to Winvian is complete without a treatment at the award winning Spa at Winvian, or a five-diamond worthy meal in one of our restaurants.

Indeed, Acciardo’s favorite spot at Winvian is our “serene, sun-drenched spa.” Like many a guest before her, she marvels at the skill of our spa manager and lead-esthetician, Lauren Beecher, noting that she “has been with the hotel for years and gives a good face—her restorative sculpting facials will leave you glowing for days.”

Describing Chef Eddy’s farm-to-table cuisine as “haute country,” the review tells readers to expect a delicious fine dining experience of “vibrant salads studded with fresh berries, hand-rolled pasta entwined in an earthy ragout, and local game perfectly roasted and served alongside just-picked root vegetables.”
A guest favorite for a leisurely lunch, dinner or after-dinner drinks and relaxation, Maggie’s Tavern receives special mention as well, as “a cozy little refuge with a welcoming bar and fireplace” serving “a menu that knows exactly what you came for during a weekend in the woods: cheesy paninis and soup, charcuterie boards, and a knockout cocktail or glass of wine from their ample cellar.”
